The Sundial Imposter looked so much like their own Sunbeam Ursa that when it came shambling out of the woods near where the new hatchlings were playing, the adult dragons at first took little notice. By the time they realised that the dull brown of its coat was not due to the shade of the trees, and that it was growling and slavering as it approached, it was too late to intervene. Suddenly, little Lady hopped towards the bear, holding out a fish. "Poor bear, are you hungry?" she asked. It certainly was, and luckily it thought the fish a tastier treat than the hatchling. Lady doesn't mind that her bear is a shadow-born mimic; all animals deserve our love and respect, she says, and his brown fur is just as soft as gold. Mote heartily approves of such noble sentiments.
