Iridian accompanied Maleficent's ambassadorial envoy to the lair of MoteOfRadiance, wanting to return to the lands of his birth. Something of a dandy, he is not shy in the arena of combat, and very quick with his slashing claws. His fighter's instincts and love of nature are both assets to his role as the clan's envoy to the domains of the Gladekeeper.

Iridian was highly put out to find the Mirror male Maldaviant not only in residence but already partnered to the Clan Matriarch. He was convinced he was the superior dragon, and the state of affairs one he was determined to change; not by challenging his rival but by out-classing him. In the meantime, he is happy to mate with the exotic but unfathomable Coatl, Umbraura. She is beautiful and demure, allowing him to pontificate for hours (largely because she can't hear most of what he is saying). Over time, his feelings towards his Commander-in-Chief have mellowed, becoming more of a friendly rivalry, and the constant impetus to compete keeps both of them at the peak of training.

Iridian has made it his goal to befriend a creature with some link to each of the eleven elements. So far he has taken creatures of all the elements except Ice under his wing. These are hard to obtain, especially since the ice dragons in the lair favour them, and so mostly he sticks to forest creatures.

His philosophy regarding his Shadow charge, the Satyr Malvolio, is that he is safer with an eye kept on him than left to wander around fomenting trouble among the Light lairs. He keeps the creature by his side with the knowledge that many another dragon who had caught him would have killed him, instead of merely pressing him into servitude.

If a Mirror dragon in his lair is going to have a Strangler for a Familiar, then by the Lightweaver, a Wildclaw should have one too! Iridian forcibly wrestled this one back from the murky borders of the Tangled Wood. The two vines flank one another outside the main entrance to the lair, hissing and darting their heads at one another. No one is quite sure whether it is a display of friendship or aggression but it certainly keeps away visitors.
