S T O R Y
Section II. When Nelan was born, her Mother and Father were in anticipation of her charge. Who or what would it be? However, they did not have to wait long as everyone found Nelan closely following Treya, the Red Queen herself. Nelan, as a wyrmling, would protect Treya from the most minor things. Ice, flies, and even rain. After many tantrums to stay with her charge she was allowed to permanently stay with Treya at the Traveling Breeze where she started to be raised and trained by the Pearlcatcher. --- Section III. With age, Nelan has recognized that Treya can protect herself very well and is not as protective as she once was. This, and Treya’s teachings, has allowed Nelan to function very well when she is not around her charge. Even though she can be independent she does prefer to be around Treya and looks up to her as an important figure in her life. She sees how Treya is gaining more control over the clan and she agrees with all of it. Nelan believes Treya can handle the clan herself and has a bit of a distaste for Osian due to his lack of attendance. However, she also acknowledges the past Treya once had with the clan but puts faith in her charge to not fall onto a broken path.

Charge |
Nelan admires and respects Treya even after learning about her history. She believes she has learned a great deal from her charge and subconsciously acts as if Treya was her mother; copying traits from the Pearlcatcher as a child would with their parents. Protecting Treya is Nelan’s job but she tends to do her own things outside of her natural duties. She likes to show Treya the many hobbies she attempts to be see she is following her teachings. |
G L O R Y
"Sibling" |
Glory was raised alongside Nelan by Treya which made her see him as a little brother. She likes to tease him and play rough, laughing as he acts offended by the gestures. However, she gets quite serious if he is truly hurt. Nelan has aided his training to become a guard like her and will test his skills by always planning a surprise attack! |
M E R R I S
Father |
Merris and Nelan had a strained relationship in the beginning as she was determined to stay by her charge’s side while Merris was rightfully concerned about Treya’s past. However, both came to an understanding before she left. She respects her father and will send him occasional letters updating him on her life, keeping out details about Treya in order to not make him worried. |
H I L G E T H
Mother |
Nelan feels she is not very close to her mother. She is thankful for her help in convincing her father to let her go, but is also thankful that she did not stay any longer because of her. In the deepest of her heart she feels that she would have burdened her mother with how quickly she found her charge, just like her father. All Nelan can do is hope her mother can find her charge soon. |
