PERSONALITY:
Quest was not born into a noble line of dragons, but into the line that had always protected them. Female guards tended to be assigned to female nobles, and given that both families only had one daughter - well, it seemed to be her destiny to guard Pearl.
They got along like a house on fire from the moment they were introduced. Unfortunately, they got along so well that it led to Pearl's parents' disapproval. Quest has always been a little rough and tumble with her friends, and Pearl had really picked up on that - just as Quest had picked up on her curiosity. Quest wasn't as naturally clever as her friend, but learning to ask 'why' was maybe the most important lesson she'd ever been taught.
In any case, that disapproval eventually turned into action. Pearl's parents insisted that they be separated lest Quest's boisterous nature 'infect' their daughter any further, and they've been apart ever since. Angry and upset, Quest's behaviour degenerated until her parents made a strong suggestion that she strike out on her own until she had grown a little.
As things stand, she's still too angry to go back. Really, she often dreams about the idea of Pearl following her here - even though she knows that Pearl can't possibly know where she is.
