J ackal. Beast. The hound of duat. Born on Harvest’s last moon, the child of Anubis. Not all of the Wolf’s children stay within the confines of the desert. Curiosity is a wondrous motivation, and one that can lead many a beasts astray and into the arms of gods. In the dark of the night and the peak of the moon, the tangled briars, and shade cursed forests can look like the desert’s starving trees and high ruins. After all the weight of the soul is measured for curiosity.

"Jackal you will head my voice."
The voice whispered through his shell as the moon began to illuminate the sky. Claws scraped along the shell until a small beast cursed imperial stumbled out. Eyes glowing in the low light of the nest.
"Well done, Now come child you must find me."
His stomach tightened, filling with urgency as he stumbled loose of his shell and the nest. He knew where he must go. The voice in the darkness bid him to come to the darkness. Lacking the grace of his grown counterparts, the lanky hatchling fled into the darkness leaving his parents with an empty egg. Outside the nest an imperial stood clad in dark robe and scales. Had this one been the voice? Ever curious the hatchling made his way to the older dragon, his beast shivered as scales melted way into gray fur.
"Yes little Jackal. It is time you come home.."
A dark shroud swept him up and with a mighty leap the elder imperial took to the starry skies. During the long flight the young Jackal tried to wiggle loose, thwarted by the seemingly alive shroud, and kept tame with promises of learning the mysteries of death, and the meaning of the soul. Finally the promise of being the Hound of Death should he never leave.
"Kentiamentiu, little Jackal is your name."
