Biography
Meridian and Saraswati accidentally exalted one of their first hatchlings, whom they had planned to adopt out, without naming them. But it was okay, because the baby derg went to be with Toastmom.
Meridian didn't really mind too much; he's a great circle around the celestial sphere centered on the zenith and nadir, as seen here:
As Meridian is technically just a really big (imaginary!) circle and he describes only two dimensions with his being, he isn't really bothered much with stuff that goes on in the higher more general level of dimensional awareness everyone else has agreed to inhabit and refer to. He spends most of his time in a contentedly zoned-out two-dimensional astronomically contemplative trance.
What kind of astronomy goes on in two dimensions that could possibly be interesting, you might ask, and you'd be right? Like what the hell would that even be. I can't even think of a metaphor because like if you lived in two dimensions and looked in one of the four primary directions you were ontologically capable of, the sun would just be a really bright line, and the moon would be a shorter variably less bright line; as seen here in principle:
Everything is just lines.
Somehow, though, Meridian finds the subject of two-dimensional astronomy interesting, so... whatever. Urania thinks this guy is totally weird, though. Also it's good that he has a hobby because his huge-*** shrimp friend there has a thing with bubbles (as well as living underwater, in 3D space) whereas Meridian is really himself just the largest circle it is possible to imagine drawing around a very large theoretical bubble, so their hobbies and interests don't really overlap.
