- Adult Biography

Little is known about Sib, as she knows little about herself.
She has a creeping awareness of fear and loss in her past, but it is painful to try to remember, so instead she is starting anew.

Sibella and Sinvyn are the ones who found her wandering, lost and amnesic, on the border of the Hewn City years ago. They took her in and helped her, so in turn she does what she can to help them and the new town they've found themselves in.

She cleans, gathers foods, and does whatever work needs doing within Riverview - but has found herself particularly drawn to the clan's modest library. She organizes books, keeps the place clean, and reads whenever she has the spare time.

[Mawkish/Cunning/Chameleonic]

She watched the goings-on within clan Amberspire with fascination, taking in everything that she could for later use.
Pepper was certain to keep the nocturne locked out of her research quarters for this reason.

As her name implies, Sibyl fancies herself a soothsayer much like her mate.
Unlike him, however, she uses Tarot cards - and cold reading - to learn of others' fates.

When Seer predicted their upcoming deaths, the two fled Amberspire, following the path he'd known Geneva had taken.

“Wake up.”

There was no gentleness in his tone – none of the softness she’d become so accustomed to.

As she was ripped out of bed, her sleep-addled mind finally registered it held terror – and once she’d fully woke, it was all she could feel as well.

“Seer, what’s going on?” she stammered as she tried to find her footing in the pitch darkness. She failed and fell with a dull thud, which only invoked a Shhh from her mate.

When her eyes finally adjusted, she saw him rummaging through their drawers feverishly.

Seer, what the hell are you doing – ” she began harshly, angered by his lack of response.

“SHH!” he snapped, turning back. He winced at the sight of her still on the floor and stooped to help her up. “Grab everything important to you. We have to go.”

“Where – Why are we going?” she asked, pulling away from him before uncertainly reaching for her cloak and slipping her deck of cards in its pocket.

“Because I’ve made a horrible mistake, Sib,” he responded quickly, going back to tearing through their drawers and shoving objects into a pack. “I’ve been lying to Pepper and she knows – they’re going to kill us both – they’re coming tonight,” he breathed. “Hours, minutes, I don’t know. I shouldn’t have stayed. I – I thought we had more time, I don’t know why I let this go on – ”

“What have you been seeing?” she asked, voice wavering as she gathered the last of her clothing and a few books and documents.

“I’ll tell you later,” he replied, shaking his head and throwing on his clothing and strapping the bulky pack between his wings. “Are you ready?”

Sybil nodded, biting her lip and hurrying over to the corner of the room, where their nest lay. “Yes, we just need to get these guys ready – ” she began, reaching to lift one of the eggs comfortably swaddled in a bed of cloth.

“We have to leave them, Sib,” he said, voice pained as he took her hand.

“What?” she shrieked, jerking her arm away and wrapping her wings around all three eggs. “You – you can’t – we can carry them, Seer! They’re not that heavy!”

“We have to leave the Isles, Sib, they’ll die if we take them.”

“Why do we have to – ”

“If we stay in the Arcane lands we die, no matter what, I’ve seen it happen in so many different ways just – just trust me okay?” he pleaded shakily.

“What if they kill them?” she snapped back, turning to glare at the man. “Why did you even – why would you even agree to another nest if you knew this?”

“I thought we had more time – and they won’t kill them, Sib! It’d be a waste of profit – ”

The skydancer and nocturne both jumped horribly as metallic clanking began to echo through the hall outside their chamber.

She let out a sob, hugging her eggs close one last time before moving away.
“You really did ruin everything,” she said, voice more sorrowful than bitter as she moved to the window and forced its rusted hinges to open.

“I’m sorry,” he breathed.

His voice was so quiet and distant. She turned, confused as to why he hadn’t followed her, only to see the man lying as she had with wings draped over their eggs.

“I’m so sorry,” he whispered, running his fingers over each one. He wept, covering his face with a hand as he stood, turning back to his mate

Just as the door to their chamber was kicked in.

He awoke with a scream, sitting bolt upright in bed with tears streaming down his face. He clutched his chest, feeling his heart pounding and the immense tightness as he tried to draw breath.

He was himself. This time, it wasn’t a vision.

A stirring at his side.

“Mmh… baby…? What’s wrong?” Sybil murmured, blinking up at him groggily, brows knit in concern.

She didn't know what had happened.
There was only pain, blankness, and then this sudden, incredible feeling of loss.

But every time she tried to figure out what was missing, and why, her thoughts flooded with obscure images that filled her with a terror beyond what she would have thought possible.

What were these visions? A crystalline castle. A hushed, cold, and fearful place. Forced silence. Traces of warmth? Love.

A voice that made her heart ache.
"Sib," and then muffled, incomprehensible words she longed to understand.

Sib, she was Sib.

But that was all she had to go on.

“Sib, we have to go. Now.
