Illuminated Bishop

Only 6 mages within The Order of The Illuminated may become bishops. The Illuminated Bishops have magical capabilities beyond what’s possible for the common drake, but still they are ravaged with paranoia. Old legends tell that magical adepts can steal the holy magic of a bishop with a simple spell. That is if you know their true name.

Of course, all records of the spell have been destroyed, but the words of the spell may still linger in the minds of the ornery. Therefore, a newly elevated bishop must permanently change their name. They name themselves after their predecessors to honor them; their birth names are forgotten, written in the Book of Unlearning and hidden away from the eyes of the prying.

In this way, they set themselves apart from other dragons and become a part of something greater. Bishop Urban IX, however, is still attached to her old name... She hesitates to write it in the Book of Unlearning.
