Falchion is achingly aware of the fact that she was not forged by careful hands. Maybe her siblings can forget the fact that they’re discarded pieces, cast-off scrap, but she can’t help but look for the imperfections that must be there. Maybe she has some imperceptible flaw in her that means if another blade strikes her just right, she’ll shatter, or break in half - and what happens to her dragon form if she snaps when she’s a weapon?

Or maybe the broken part of her will show up in the way she speaks, the way she walks; maybe everyone looks at her and can just tell that she isn’t a proper dragon at all.
