Inevitably Unmannerly Mockingbird Paradise

TimberSage came from a growing clan of travelers, and she always had a feeling that one day, she would leave them to explore the world of Sornieth. The main reason she wanted to travel was to learn more about potion making, discover new plants and herbs, and find more ways to use the things everyone took for granted each day. Her home clan had always been a little loud and wild, which comforted her a little. She was generally quiet and kept to herself, so the idea of traveling was a little intimidating.

Crow Callers

The Scarred Wasteland may have been an odd choice for TimberSage to begin her journey, but there were still plants in Plague territory after all - it helped that the particular clan she ended up in was close to the Tangled Wood.

When she came to Crow Callers, TimberSage decided to search around to see where she could find some local plants. She was mainly finding fungi - mushrooms in particular. She didn't know which mushrooms were toxic and which were safe to handle, so she figured it was best to hold off on touching any of them.

TimberSage ended up meeting a Bogsneak named Sanya, who was willing to teach her some more about making potions. They found each other getting along quite well.

One day when TimberSage and Sanya were working on making some potions, a young Aberration showed up:

"Hey there! What are you up to?" he asked, seeming curious.

Sanya panicked and began to block the Aberration from taking another step towards the area. "For the love of The Eleven, don't let him get near the potions!" she exclaimed. The Aberration stumbled as he tried to step back.

"Woah, what's that about?" TimberSage asked.

Sanya tried to regain composure. "Sorry. That's Milo - he never means any harm, but he causes a lot of it..." she explained.

"What happens? Is he just clumsy, or something?" TimberSage asked.

At that moment, several of the plants they were working with instantly withered.

"You see?" Sanya asked.

"Oh, for the love of Gladekeeper- I'm sorry, I didn't try to do anything, I-" Milo stammered, but tried to compose himself. "You see, I'm literally born unlucky."

"Literally?" TimberSage asked.

"I'm cursed. No one knows why, but I think it's because I was born on Friday the 13th!" Milo explained. As he continued trying to walk away, he tripped over his two tails and fell down.

"Are you okay?!" TimberSage asked, helping him stand back up - she noticed that the Aberration had a few faint scars on his side.

"I'm fine. I'm really sorry about what happened, I'm quite curious to see what you're doing..." Milo said.

"Hold on a minute, where's Charms?" Sanya asked.

"Charms?" TimberSage asked.

"A little Aether who brings good fortune. He often cancels out Milo's curse." Sanya replied.

"Hey, good thinking, I'll see where he is!" Milo replied, as he left.

Milo returned shortly afterwards, bringing Charms with him. Afterwards, TimberSage and Sanya continued making the potion, with no further mishaps.

TimberSage enjoyed her first journey outside of her home clan - it was exciting to meet Sanya, a fellow potion maker, and also to get to know Milo and Charms. She hoped she'd enjoy the rest of her journeys.
