Lorian was trained by some of the original paladins of Bastion, and he takes great pride in his abilities. He's served on the Council for many years--so many that some say he has become too distant from the regular people of the city.

As the Shade grows stronger, Lorian becomes increasingly stressed: for reasons obvious, but also for reasons concerning the citizens of Bastion. He is convinced that they've grown too lax about their predicament.

Perhaps because of his worries and doubts, Lorian hasn't done much but work lately. He grows increasingly alienated from everyday life in Bastion, and those close to him are beginning to worry for his mental health.
