Renolo

Renolo and her younger brother Torval hail from where the northernmost edge of Ashfall Waste meets the Sea. Their small village is more a small network of families who have split off from their clans in Cinderslag. Just outside the crater, oppressive heat is washed away by the meandering sea breeze, and resourceful traders from the Shifting Expanse and beyond have ventured forth to establish mercantile connections. Though the village is far from the dense magical atmosphere of either the Tidelord or Flamecaller's preferred roosts, a concentrated mix of magic exists at the border of the two territories, long-lasting evidence of conflict between the powers. Dragons native to the area possess the rare blessing of twin flights.

Renolo has always been very independent, even as a young dragon; she frequently got in trouble for sneaking off to Churnscar Wharf or aboard docked ships. Observing and integrating herself into the alluring culture of sailors and world-wise travelers wasn't just her juvenile obsession - it was the path Renolo chose for her future.

Though her family no longer lives in the heart of Ashfall Waste's churning metalworks, the traditional form of metallurgy is still practiced and passed down from parent to child. The type of metalwork Renolo and her siblings trained in is not wrought with tools, but rather with highly specific, highly skilled magic. Using gathered material and elements drawn from the environment, metals can be synthesized and shaped as long as the mage's concentration is not broken. Renolo never found her lessons particularly stimulating, until running her mouth got her in trouble and she realized she could use her abilities to defend herself. In addition to an unprecedented dedication to her metallurgy, Renolo has learned to fight with and carry a sword - knowing she can create herself a replacement in a pinch.
