Biography
Her mate Merrick abandoned her before their single egg had even hatched. With the knowledge this baby would be the only one she'd ever have, and that she'd have to raise them alone, she spent their incubation period feeling ill to her stomach, not just because of the aftereffect of laying the clutch. Imogen had been played with, and her love for Merrick turned to a bitterness.
It was a good thing, then, that her son Nanta hatched looking nothing like the drake that had played with her feelings. She hoped she would have loved him just as much if he had looked like his father, but occasionally, she doubted herself. But sweet Nanta was helpful and kind, always doing his best to help her when her health deteriorated. She was not dying, but just the single egg had taken much out of her and had left her bedridden for years, and physically weakened even decades after. If she had been truly alone, she would have to fall back on the care of her mother and siblings alone, but Nanta grew up to take on the lion's share of care for his mother.
Imogen does not plan on ever leaving the Observatory, and Nanta will likely stay with her until he has found a mate and had children of his own. She cannot wait to see her grandchildren.
Note: The Observatory was fully rebuilt and furnished for the first Generation's families when she was at Age 37 (Adolescent)

Generation One Observatory Aether, Infertile Janani's bloodline is subjected to a rare hereditary condition that limits female Aethers to being unable to lay more than a single clutch of eggs. As a result, the mothers of the lineage care deeply for their children and extended family, and enjoy hearing about their lives now and then. Janani > Imogen |
