Born a parasite, Inasco was told he would not survive his first winter and was destined to be exalted to serve the deities on a higher plane, so as not to infect the other dragons of the clan....
Clan Brightshade was no stranger to dragons with unusual 'conditions' and the elders felt such a promising youngster should be given a chance to prove himself, so they started searching for a cure. They tried all manner of remedies, from herbs and fungi to transformative alchemy of the darkest kind. A great deal of suffering went along with some of these experiments until Inasco begged to be sent on his way to serve the Shadowbinder as was his destiny. Then a simple (and really quite delicious) herbal concoction was found to be effective at keeping his condition under control. He wasn't totally cured, but he was no longer a danger to the other members of the clan. As long as he kept drinking the potion every few days, everything would be fine.... |
