Biography
This is a registered Estuary Dragon!
Cordycep looked down into the edge of the ocean. His eyes fixed on the waves that lapped at his claw tips. He sat at the very border of shadow, the swamplands sat behind him, the ocean of water territory in front of him. He remembered his transformation. He felt the power of the undersea currents of the abyss imbed its force underneath his scales. It was his teacher. The trench had whispered wisdoms into his soul, and taught him about his purpose, his destiny, and yet as he now sat there, the waves were silent. He had been taught a great lesson of the world, but he couldn’t decipher it. He was lost.
“Show me a sign..” He whispered, clenching his claws into the dark purple earth. “Please, teach me.”
Nothing.
Again.
He came to this spot quite often, hoping to be shown what he was supposed to be doing with his newfound life, but the trenches below had stopped singing. He rested his nose against the surface of the water and closed his eyes, his heart ached for something, anything.
Then there it was.
A pull, different from when he had gone through his transformation. It was weak, but it was there. He knew this was it. This was the sign.
He leaped into the deep blue without a second thought.
As he swam down into the dark, he noticed something else that was strange. The pull was not a constant hum that grew louder like before, it came and went, it beat like a drum, it was a heartbeat. It was…alive.
He beat his wings against the current, against the sound. It rang in his ears and in his heart, and there he saw it. A small skydancer, being carried by an undersea current. He swam down to the skydancer, grabbed her and held her, and swam upward back to the surface.
As he set her down onto the ground, he noticed her scales. They rippled with energetic waves just like his did, and he gasped, speaking in disbelief. “You’re like me..” The dragon coughed weakly then looked up at him, looking very confused. “What do you mean…?” His eyes lit up and his heart beat hard in his chest. He wasn’t alone, he wasn’t alone! She had said something else, but he hadn’t even noticed and burst out loud.
“I’m.. I’m not alone! You felt it right? It drew you in, it spoke to you! It transformed you, just like me, you’re like me!”
“What..??” The dragon looked even more confused at his response. She didn’t understand him, why was she so confused? She’s like him, right?
“Look” he pointed to her scales, and as her gaze landed on the swirling patterns beneath her scales, her eyes went wide. He let her look at him as well, and he could see her trying to work it out, so much emotion, confusion, wonder,
