"Don't listen to a word I say —" ╰───────────────────────────────────╯ Brandr has lived a long life... Much longer than usual for an Aether. He began as a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed metalworking apprentice — until his entire reality began to crumble around him. As he began to learn fire magic, he began to notice that he couldn't control it whatsoever. He burnt everything he tried to use it on, even the delicate metals of the forge. Upset that a simple task such as heating up an ingot was impossible for him, Brandr's body temperature skyrocketed to an unnatural degree. He now couldn't hold anything, not even his own parents, without burning them severely. The pain of the constant burning was something the young dragon could handle, but — being unable to embrace anyone ever again without risking injuring them was something he couldn't handle. He soon became withdrawn, rarely leaving the massive volcano he now called his home. A couple hundred years passed, and he hadn't spoken to anyone. The appearance of a particularly persistent — and gifted — Aether, possessing a maw of sharp teeth, gave Brandr the company he so dearly missed. With the Lightning-born Aether's magic, his body was able to be calmed for short periods... Enough for him to embrace someone once again. |
