Ixtoc
Warm Water Wanderer

Like many Ice dragons, Ixtoc has a very serious nature. He’s not much of a fan of surprises or small talk. He’s also not much of a fan of the cold water. He wanted to live someplace warmer where he could feel the tips of his fins. That’s how Ixtoc came to find himself swimming in the temperate streams of Singer’s Brook.

One day, shortly after his arrival, he came across a curiously exasperating sight. A group of land dwelling dragons who were trying - trying, but failing miserably - to put together an irrigation system for their farmland. He watched as two Pearlcatchers (Calabaza and Luxaeterna) effectively made a mockery of some poor Guardian’s attempts to supervise the installation project.

Ixtoc found that he was not the only spectator to this calamity. A female Undertide, one from the Lightning domain, by the look of it, was also watching the debacle and shaking her head. Eventually, the female noticed his presence and turned to look at him. They each raised an eyebrow at one another, and together they slithered up on shore to go to the Guardian’s rescue.

The Undertides relieved the Pearlcatchers of their positions, allowing them to get back to doing whatever activities land dwellers are better suited to. Then, under the leadership of the Guardian, Earthworm, Ixtoc and his newly met partner, Phryne, set to work. The Guardian had designed a truly magnificent in-ground, drip irrigation system that would be automatically fed by the surrounding streams. Without any further muss or fuss, the team had the irrigation system properly installed and operational within 3 days.

After that, Earthworm asked Ixtoc and Phryne to stay on as permanent clan members. He offered the Undertides very important maintenance roles for the upkeep, improvement, and expansion of the irrigation system for the clan’s farm, the Orange Squash Co-Op™️. Both Undertides accepted the positions and found themselves places to settle in under the rushing river currents.

As time went on, the Undertides came to find that they shared quite a few interests and had very similar values. Based on this, the two eventually determined that it could be mutually beneficial for them to cohabitate and share each other’s resources. They made a contract with each other, and several successful seasons after that, the two decided that they could potentially have an egg or two together. Nothing too crazy, though. They have FAR too much work to be getting on with.
