Shado and Rubelle : The Keepers


Rubelle was in the midst of her Search when she was driven seaward by a thunderstorm. Discovered unconscious in a small crater by the Renegade scouts, she was provided with the best hospitality the Mother Superior could provide a fellow guardian. A severe wing injury limited her mobility for some months, even with the help of the clan healers. Even before she was cleared for flight once more, Rubelle and Shado had hatched a clutch together, with all the offspring being fostered until their Search was complete.

As the eldest hatchling of Renegade Clan, Shado had certain privileges – one being the protection of the clan should his Search become focused on a fellow dragon, and not a place or an object.

This protection was needed as he and Rubelle set out on their quest together – the Search lead them to the outskirts of the Abiding Boneyard, where they found an injured Mirror hatchling. The pair cautiously returned to Starwood Strand, uncertain as to the homecoming they would receive upon the revelation of the Plague hatchling. Despite the rage of Superior at a Plague dragon – not to mention a Mirror - being brought into her home, she could not deny the fact that both Rubelle and Shado has fixated on the hatchling as their own, and the pair were allowed to keep the baby, whom they named Malady, as a nod to her heritage.
