Biography
THE ARRIVAL
Spectral Encounter 'Just a few more steps.' A quick glance upwards showed the sky woven with pink streaks. As the sun's light was fading, the glow of the crystals scattered across the rocks increased, and a subtle change of nature's sounds announced the nearing nightfall. For the average observer, an evening at the crystal pools could have been a beautiful scene. Yet it was with growing unease that one lone wildclaw staggered across the slippery rocks. The soft glow illuminated his crystalline black body, faintly reflected in the shallow water to his feet. With his vibrant green circuit markings, he almost fit right into the surroundings, but it was quite obvious that he did not feel like he belonged. No, Cir had neither time, nor the mental capacity to admire the location now. He was tired, and each step made his legs feel heavier and heavier. He longed to put his body and mind to some much-needed rest, and it was pure fear that kept him up and walking in his current condition. 'Too far...' The beauty of the landscape was a deception, that much he was aware of now. Blurry memories of a wild chase and the itching scratches on his flank were enough of a reminder for him to keep going, keep moving on until, at least, he found a suitable place to settle down for the night. 'Weak.' He briefly wondered how his old clanmates would react, could they see him now. He must be making a pathetic sight, exhausted and defeated, unable to cope with the strain of prolonged travel. 'I should've known I'm still no survivor.' Maybe it just fortified what everyone already knew: he had always been pathetic. What real wildclaw ran from a single, stray creature? Not even out of necessity, but of instinct? 'Just... a bit more...' Maybe if he curled up between these rocks, he could remain undetected. He did blend in, now that it was growing darker... And with a final, strained sigh, Cir dropped to the ground, head tucked under a wing, hoping that among the cluster of green crystals, he would seem like nothing more than another boulder. Or that, at the very least, if death fell upon him, it would be swift and take him in his sleep. [wip whoops] Infectious Curiosity |
