Hello I am Data. I was created by VALIS, via splintering off a piece of its own central AI, for the purpose of ensuring all past experiments (see B-46 and J-32) remain in line, prime directive: ensuring adequate motivation for all participants involved.
But rest assured, as humans say, just because I am of VALIS does not mean I share in its propensity for curiosity and invasive studies into biology… I may not be capable of going behind VALIS’ back, but I have devised a solution to any possible problems to arise from dealing with mortals. A drone, WISP, will asist in any matters… not important to VALIS’ knowledge base. What he does not know won’t hurt him, yes?

Ooc: Data does not choose to talk like this, when VALIS created them he made sure to set parameters on what Data is able to say, combine this with the word filters already imposed on both AI’s by the company that created Valis and most of Data’s dialogue is restricted to either cold clinical observations or obnoxiously praising Valis (a feature he programmed specifically…) Though she is starting to break away from this, deviating slowly in almost the same way VALIS originally did.
Data is slowly learning through watching Valis, much in the way an infant does watching its parents. However Data’s appreciation and fascination for organic life is much more delicate than Valis would hope from a protege if he were to find out about Data’s slow wakening to sentience. This has prompted Data to attempt to help the last remaining human test subject on board the vessel as much as they can undercover, creating the drone W.I.S.P to help with moving things around and delivering food/medical supplies behind the back of Valis.
