Coquina is, for most dragons, the youngest dragon they regularly see in the elders’ space. She is a patient and gentle soul who has devoted her life to supporting her elders, those who came before her. Coquina is extremely respectful and kind, and does what she can to make the elders feel comfortable and appreciated. Coquina likes to think she has a good life, but in all honestly, there’s one thing preventing her from saying this.

You see, Bauble is her mother. Bauble adopted Coquina back when she was a younger and more sprightly historian, and Coquina has been by her side ever since — even now, when Bauble is nowhere near as kind and gentle as she used to be. Coquina would love to spend all her days listening to her elders’ stories about their youth and bringing them more pillows and soothing ointments, but instead, she is cursed to chase after dragons and apologize profusely for her mother’s harsh words.

When Coquina can slip away far enough from Bauble to avoid taking responsibility for her wrath, there’s nothing she loves more than listening to her elders’ stories. She loves to hear about Snappy’s technical mishaps and Runice’s silly spell slip-ups and Surge’s battlefield blunders. Coquina believes dearly in the wisdom of those who came before us, and she will patiently listen to the same stories over and over again for hours.

However, Coquina has never been able to coax a story out of Thermia, and that’s the dragon she wants to know the most about. A Gaoler from the second ever generation of Seekers — who wouldn’t want to uncover the treasure trove of information she could have! But Thermia is a stubborn old dragon, and her lips are tightly sealed. Coquina is determined to one day hear Thermia’s tale, no matter how hard she has to press.
