Dreamsicle showed no sign that she heard him. She flitted around, interested in everything but trick-or-treating. He knew this would happen. She had insisted that she wanted to do that trick-or-treating thing everyone was talking about. She promised she would stick with it for one night. But no. Now that they were out here, she was more interested in talking to snails or collecting weird rocks for some “art project”. [i]Exactly as he predicted[/i]. He groaned, rubbing his temples. He wanted to call it quits and go home. But the moment he would suggest that she would get pouty, begging to stay out longer. Some days he felt like her babysitter instead of her mate. He tried again. “Are you sure you don't want to do this one, Dream?” But again, she did not answer. He closed his eyes and let out a long, exasperated sigh. “Trick or treat.” He called out, just wanting to get this over with.
