Chance

Chance was very small when he hatched and at the time it seemed like a good idea for the kids to stay in the wind lair until they put on a little size. Having an adventuring and mostly absent father didn't keep him from getting lots of attention from the other wind dragons who were generally friendly to an enormous degree. He got cuddled by Ebony and fed and loved. He was always willing to listen, so he learned about being wild and free when he was chattered at by Lonan who believed in the power of self sufficiency. He also borrowed a lot of books. The clan didn't mind that either, and somehow he turned into a bit of a librarian. Yet as he grew, he wasn't small and sickly anymore, in fact, he passed his own father by a long shot. One day he felt that being a librarian wasn't what he wanted in his life. To be more he'd have to move, to change, to grow. So he finally plunged off the floating world he'd grown up on one morning, setting out for his mother's clan. It was time to go home.
