Fighter Mated to Ranu You see this dragon in a field next to two others, he corrects them as they train for service to the Tidelord or other Deities. 
Bahira. The name still stung to his very core. He would hear it on occasion, from other members of the clan. Remains of questions left unanswered and now without a means to solve them. He recalled their conversations, late nights below the stars as she told him she longed to leave the clan to find a path to fit the narrative she wanted. She wanted more than he could offer her. She did not wait, not linger, to leave. She watched Flightstone’s dejected stare turn into one of misery. He would not part from the home he loved, no matter how his heart pulled him to her.
Flightstone’s duty was to the deities. Fighters who he must train in order to be worthy beside the gods. He barked commands and corrected mistakes, lecturing them on the importance of good technique, good stance, and good moral. His praise was hard to earn, but once gotten, felt as precious as gold. In his constant training, he drew attention. Flightstone looked for no new love, delving into the work he was given as a means of easing his broken heart. So when it came to his attention that a new face had been watching him, he felt awkward. He did not know how to tell her of his little interest. He scoured books for hours in an attempt to conjure up a feeble excuse. He mumbled it over to himself as he collected armour for the new fighters. But seeing her had broken up his excuses before he could even speak them. She filled the emptiness with a caring gaze and a giggle that could melt Flightstone down to his very bones. It was something the new fighters laughed over once he left them to return home. It was a stark contrast to his battle ready being. A reaper of beasts, with a voice that roared as if the very skies opened for him. Once he felt they were ready, he fought them himself. A final test. If they could prove themselves to him, he would allow them to embark upon their journey to serve the deities. He liked to claim he did not miss them. Flightstone sent droves upon droves of fighters, the number swelling once the calls were sounded, their deities desiring more and more to aid in the conquest of the skies. On his hardest pushes, he would come home bruised and battered, much to Ranu’s displeasure. Beneath his stone-solid determination sat the patience to hear Ranu’s soft complaints. Her fingers untugged bandages from their cords and helped him to heal, offering him soft songs on smiling lips, pleased to have him back alive. Flightstone had a duty that he adored. A service to the very gods themselves. One that he would fulfil until he simply no longer could. Though he found himself more injured than not on his outings, the fighters would come to him seeking advice. Seeing the same determination in their eyes, the same he once held when he was a mere fledgling, motivated him to help. He would serve the deities and offer them the best army they had ever seen. He promised.
