 KING CADAVERINE . HE/HIM . REGENT ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ [ HE WHO BROUGHT FORTH CORRUPTION ] The horrible ruler of the Kingdom of Rot. He is a cruel and unscrupulous king who sees all within his territory as nothing more than resources for whatever mad desires he seeks to fulfill. He is feared by all, even the plagueborn dragons who conquered the kingdom alongside him.
[ HIS AMBITION, TWISTED AND ROTTEN ]
He takes commoners and uses them as subjects in his wicked experiments on altering the bodies of dragons, attempting to make them stronger or more useful. The successful ones are doomed to a life of agony in their modified forms and eternal servitude in whatever task he'd twisted them into being made to perform. The failures are abandoned to suffer alone. He takes dragons that he sees as not productive enough to be missed, so the subjects of the kingdom all work hard to make themselves valuable and trample each other trying to be better than everyone else who shares their line of work. Deep distrust of others and a vicious competitive spirit are instilled in every dragon as a result of the fight to survive. [ HIS ORIGIN, TARNISHED AND GORY ] Cadaverine came from a long, long line of ridgebacks just as wretched and violent as he. Warlords hardened by generations of surviving in the hostile wasteland of Sheol who preferred to rip their resources from the hands of others than build any empires of their own. To him and his ancestors, all the glory lies in spilling blood to get what you want. He had taken the kingdom when it all its citizens had grown resentful of the old Queen Mysteriosa and her careless ways, making it an almost disappointingly easy target -- hardly one dragon lifted a claw to stop his siege. Perhaps they would have if they'd known he would be worse than the Queen ever could have dreamed of being. He maimed her to near-death and tore off all her royal adornments before forcing her into exile in Sheol forever. It amuses him so to think of her now, struggling to survive isolated in a barren wasteland wearing naught but rags.
