Quote:
From Middle English helen, helien, from Old English helan ("to conceal, cover, hide") and helian ("to conceal, cover, hide"), from Proto-Germanic *helaną ("to conceal, stash, receive stolen goods"), *haljaną ("to hull, conceal"), both from Proto-Indo-European *ḱel- ("to hide"). Cognate with Scots heal ("to cover, hide, conceal"), Saterland Frisian hela ("to conceal"), Dutch helen ("to conceal"), German hehlen ("to deal in stolen or illegal goods"). More at heal.
As summer faded away, a new night warrior was named here during his own Flameforger's Festival in the Ghostlight Ruins under the mentorship of Luna and Salamandra. That is, until he learned about his father's debt. It was on this day which should have been his day of honor which instead became his day of failure. When he went to claim his long-awaited prize, he was told he would have to train harder because his father had not fulfilled his duty before him. He'd have to be better than others in his position just to be noticed. The seed of resentment had been planted, but only time would tell if it would become a great, sheltering tree or a parasitic vine.
On 9/30/2023, his dream was finally achieved.
At last, Heled has reached the coveted level 25. He has fought harder than his peers in the lair, because he had to. Heled, the hidden one, forged of flame and deferred dreams, looks down at last from his mountain of progress and beckons to his clanmates: 'Get on my level', he seems to tell them from beneath his cloak. "Unless you stand wing to wing with me, you cannot judge what I have had to do to claw my way to the top." Unlike his rival Shadow, Heled is not content to sit by idly and revel in his success. There is always something more to achieve. Fire is not to be quenched so easily. Even embers will eventually rise up and engulf a forest.
"You did not let me be your hero, so allow me to become your villain."

Blue
Heled felt a presence and looked to his side to find a tall blue serthis beside him, their heads level with each other. He stared at him for a while, wondering whether to say anything when he spoke up first.
"Moonjelly's worried about you, so I'm going to hang around you until you trust me so I can poison you in your sleep but before that you're going to figure it out and stop me and we're going to be friends but first we have to be enemies," said the serthis in a hard to read monotone.
"Are you offering to be my rival? I've already got one, sorry. I have to focus. I don't have time for multiple rivals in my life." Heled didn't know whether to take him seriously or not.
"My name's Blue. Your mom's worried about you. She'll stop worrying about both of us if we at least pretend to get along for a little. I'm good at pretending. I'll help you out." Blue nodded in Moonjelly's direction; she was still at the bottom of the hill, waving and smiling at them like she'd just brought two children to the playground and left them alone hoping they'd make friends.
"Mom--what are you--my mother isn't in this clan. What are you talking about?" Heled glanced at Moonjelly with confusion before turning back to Blue. "How long have you been standing there, anyway?"
"I could ask you the same thing, but I have a feeling the answer will make me feel sorry for you." Blue made a face. "I don't want to begin another friendship on sympathy. It's too confusing."
"...I swear you're talking but all I hear is nonsense. Speak plain."
Blue groaned, holding out his hand. "Let's be friends. It benefits both of us, alright?"
Heled looked back at Moonjelly and wondered if it was somehow a trick. "Fine. But I don't do any of that touchy-feely stuff, got it?"
"I'm shaking your hand but that's it. If you hug me, I will suffocate you as a reflex."
"Fine."
"Fine."
"Fine."
