Biography
Tiamat - the Historian
And her familiar, Rea, a Ragamouse
"Call me what you will, but I'll find the answers I'm searching for."
And her familiar, Rea, a Ragamouse
"Call me what you will, but I'll find the answers I'm searching for."
Now, Tanith, her mother would always praise for her resemblance to Dad. Sure, she might not have gotten her bright and colourful plumage, but mom had always said she had other strengths that Tanith didn't have. Tiamat was intellectual and loved to read off of scrolls, something that many of the Arcanist Flight would make for the ideal little Magelet - and later on, the perfect Acolight. It was often that she would get so caught up in her reading that her pearl would roll out of her sight, and one of the members of the clan (usually Fenthion, a fellow Pearlcatcher) would have to hand it back to her and scold her about the importance of the pearl to her species. Tiamat, however, looked at the world in a different way. Dragons, all of them - they were one and the same, created just to serve their deities. But how did that creation exactly work? Was it because they all possessed magic? And if so, what about the past? How did the species before dragons use magic, back then?
Some in the clan like to joke that she should have been part of the Light Flight instead. But that's just not it. Maybe, if they could find what Magic was, they could fight off the Shade? Or maybe, just maybe, if she could find out how Magic works, she could bring her brother back from the grips of the Plaguebringer for Dad and Taethys?... --- When Typhon grew up, she could tell he hated her. She couldn't blame him. She wasn't exactly the best family in the world. Still, he was too young to know the pain their family had gone through after that scandal. She had to keep working. Trying to find something. Just because Taethys and Dad had recovered now, didn't mean that her brother didn't deserve a chance to be saved. She sacrificed herself to theorizing, and thought no more of the issue. It was the same, day after day. Rea would scramble over and fetch her the scrolls she needed in her tiny paws, and Tiamat would read them all. After she did that, she'd copy down the notes of the land's history on a new scroll, leaving some of her theories at the very end. Every time she ignored Typhon, she felt disdain and guilt, merged together into a single, confusing mess. Still, there was a part of Tiamat which tried to convince her that she was making the right move. She wasn't missing much, anyway. Right? |
