Tanith

"Mom, are we there yet?"
A young dragon yawned, up in the safety of her mother's back as she flew over Sornieth. She could see everything from here - each individual tree, cliffs illuminated by the moonlight, and even the figures of a few other dragons, flying through the sky.

"Almost."
The soft murmur calmed her, but was not enough to quench her curiosity. The place they had left Dad at had been so dark, she didn't even know what colours were until Nephthys took her high up into the sky. She had said she was the leader of a Dragon Clan. A Clan! Like that Mirror back in the Shadow Flight? How did the Arcane Flight look like, anyway? Did the dragons look different? The thoughts of these questions made Tanith so excited that she heard a squeal from Tiamat when she accidentally poked her with her talon.

And then, she saw it. A forest. Not just any forest, but one in which each leaf looked like stars, shining clearly even from their height. Tanith was awed by the view. It was so pretty, all these blues and whites and yellows - it's like they were real stars, but only on the land.

"Tiamat! Tiamat, look!" She squeaked, gasping at the view of what she would later come to know as the Starwood Strand. Tiamat stirred from her nap and peered over her mother's shoulder, trying to pinpoint what her sister had seen. When she finally saw it, she was just as wonderstruck as her sibling, staring at it in glee.

The last thing Tanith would hear, and come to remember for eons to come, would be the voice of her mother.

"Tanith, Tiamat?... Welcome home."
