Orcus

Orcus always had a fascination with technology, the new, the exciting, the innovative! Exactly the things that were lacking in the Southern Icefield. After teaching himself everything he could find on mechanics, he left home, intending to learn even more from the best he could find. And who better than the legendary Stormcatcher? The master of all things electric! With that thought in mind he journeyed to the charred wastes of the Thunder Plains.
His understanding and skill with engineering quickly brought him to the attention of the Many-Legged-Ones employees, who were thrilled to have someone new to teach and share the workload. Orcus found a home with Arrakis and Vega, who despite not having any skill with technology nevertheless found it fascinating. They even went so far as to provide him with a workroom so he could invent and tinker well into the night, which he takes full advantage of. He rarely leaves the workroom when he is home, and the other dragons almost never see him. The only sign of his presence is the sound of clashing metal echoing through the halls, or the infrequent explosion. He is tolerated mostly as a gruff eccentric, and the income he provides from maintaining the lightning farms is most welcome.
Even though he is stern and unapproachable, he has a soft spot for his young apprentice Nightshade.

There are whispered rumors that the electrical 'enhancements' he has undergone were not due to injury from lightning strikes, but from more sinister and alarming Lightning Flight experiments--though no two stories can agree on the details...
