Adrian

No one is quite sure what sort of title to give Adrian. He's just kind of there, helping out with everything that could possibly need done, from gathering supplies to tending nests and hatchlings to helping clan members move heavy objects.

His Search eventually brought him to the Tangled Wood. After several days of wandering through Shadow territory and getting thoroughly lost in the Foxfire Bramble, he stumbled into the Wispwillow Grove. There, he found a half-dead Serthis huddled beneath an ancient pine. Seeing the pitiful creature, he felt the protective compulsion that meant the end of his search. This Serthis was his Charge. Adrian carefully cradled the injured creature in his front claws and went winging back homeward.

It took several days, but between Xinqing's healing ability and Adrian's constant (if slightly overbearing) attention, the Serthis recovered. After regaining consciousness, he listened warily to Adrian's explanations of how he had been found, and with a bitter smile had informed him that he had been beaten and driven away by his clan for teaching magic to an orphaned Shadow hatchling.

It didn't take long for Adrian to badger Nadja into letting his new Charge stay, and it took even less time to convince said Serthis to make the clan his new home. "My name is Salem," he told Adrian, "and thank you." Salem proceeded to make himself exceedingly useful, especially to Xinqing and his mate, and he can often be found assisting healer and botanist with his extensive knowledge of herbs and the healing practices of Shadow lands. He and Adrian are also inseparable, a fact which has a tendency to cramp up the healer's space and often results in Adrian being forced out of the lair by blasts of wind from a certain frustrated skydancer.

Adrian has the mischievous nature and penchant for pranks and games of a Shadow dragon and is almost entirely without the frigid dislike of others that Ice dragons are known for. He's quite openly friendly and handles interpersonal relationships with ease; clan members often come to him for advice about handling their own friendships and love lives. He's far more patient and less cutthroat than his mate, but the unwavering loyalty he devotes to the clan can make him just as vicious in the face of threats to his family's safety.
