Born and raised deep in the Southern Icefields, Thunderclap was bred to be a warrior and protector. Blind from birth, she honed her skills in battle by depending on her other senses and innate magics. It was no question that once she came of age, she would be a Sentinel burdened with the responsibility of protecting the innermost sanctums of the Fortress of Ends. She is known for being sharp, calculating, and unmoving in her decisions.

It wasn't until the Seekers were reinstated that the unimaginable happened: Thunderclap would have to leave the frigid caverns of her home and discover the world outside of ice. She originally fought her new assignment, but a vision from the Icewarden himself admonishing her unwillingness to protect her home pushed her to accept the role. She set out with her closest friend, Utuqaq, for fiery lands across the waves.

Landing upon the beach of Magmablood Rebuke, Thunderclap was met with dragons of the flame both curious and defensive. As she explained her duty, a dragon pushed to the front of the crowd and Thunderclap fell silent as she sensed the familiar aura of ancient ice magic. Another Gaoler... how? He excitedly approached and introduced himself as Emberfoot, a materials collector for the rebel blacksmiths of the Ashfall Wastes. She cautiously began to sniff around his body, poking and prodding with cold claws to ensure her senses weren't deceiving her. The mysterious Gaoler had dusty fur littered with small knots and stones and claws caked with dirt. He didn't even seem to mind the intrusiveness of her exploring. He invited her to his clan's lair so she could rest and eat since she was surely exhausted from her journey. She accepted the invitation, curious about Emberfoot's existence in the least likely of places.

Over the course of several days, Thunderclap learned of the local culture and how Emberfoot came to live here. She listened to his story in quiet contemplation, taking in every word deeply. She realized that her journey as a Seeker would lead her to many places completely against everything she had ever known and it would do her no good to face it alone, as lovely as Utuqaq's company may be. Choosing her words wisely, she asked Emberfoot if he would consider seeing the rest of Sorneith with her and aiding her on her assignment. He immediately toppled her over in an overexcited embrace and accepted yes, Yes, YES!!

From then on, they traveled Sorneith together, growing closer over time. Thunderclap trained Emberfoot in battle tactics while he showed her how to live off the land. Eventually, they would return to the Fortress of Ends and, after much convincing of the Wardens, Emberfoot was accepted by the other Gaolers and Thunderclap retired from her duties. Together they started their own clan, solid and unyielding as the ancient ice with the warm heart and claws of inviting flame.
