Fidel's first memories had been playing with a young Aberration named Moriah and Hosia. They lived together in a very religious sect of followers of the Lightweaver called Bright Return. The majority of the members were Pearlcatchers and Imperials, and the trio grew up being told one day they would become beautiful pearlcatchers like everyone else. Their youth was relatively peaceful until they and other performed many experiments on several stolen hatchlings, including the trio of friends, which turned Moriah and Fidel into pearlcatchers. They were the only two to survive, leaving the two without Hosia, who had been like an older brother to the two.
Despite making it through, Fidel's procedure had gone far from "smoothly". He came out with his previously brilliant purple eyes dark as pitch, which constantly leaked dark fluid. Unlike Moriah, Fidel's face was far from that of a traditional pearlcatcher. He had two extra sets of pitch black eyes that also constantly wept.
After time, as Fidel became an adult, and it didn't take long before he began to become disillusioned with the religeous sect that had supposedly taken him in. While he could live relatively normally, he had become disfigured. While Moriah quickly rose the ranks in the sect,
