As a child, Ayita had but one dream: she wanted to dance gracefully as an honor to her deity. But as with many dreams, there were obstacles that stood in her way. For one thing, she was born a Guardian. A dainty step in her eyes might look like a threat to someone's life in another's. Secondly, a beautiful display such as those which she would desire to perform was not commonplace in the plaguelands. Perhaps a lively and loud rally in the name of impending victory and conquest, or a respectful but no-holds-barred celebration of the life cycle, but not the sort of gentle and reverent sort of dance Ayita preferred. After much thought, Ayita decided to leave. She would seek a new life in the Ashfall Wasteland, where the blood and magic inherited from her father called her. It was her desire that, once there, she would find a place to settle and seek a new form: the form of the Fae, a small and graceful form that resembled the gently glowing ember that others described her as.

As she traveled around the Ashfall Waste, she heard rumors of a dragon, who also hailed from the Plague flight, said to have skill in magics and potionmaking. Said to have skill in magics and potions that would, specifically, change one's form. It was thus that Ayita made her way to the Lavaflow Labyrinth. Not long after her arrival, she was approached by Basalt, who assured her that he knew why she was here and that he could indeed change her into a Fae. In exchange for all her treasure, she received a potion that successfully turned her into a Fae. Though her lack of monotone distinguishes her, physically she was indistinguishable from a natural-born Fae. Having fallen in love with the clan, she practiced her craft, seeking to honor the Flamecaller for the hospitality her lands had shown her. It was not long after Lereko arrived, seeking a change in form; the difference was that he was cursed and sought to return to his original form as a Pearlcatcher. But having met and bonded with Ayita, and seeing a potential life for him in this form, he turned down Basalt's offer of a potion. It is said that this is the moment when Basalt turned on them, seeking to do them harm when the opportunity arises.

Ayita is a spunky lady; she has no qualms saying what she thinks and takes no measures to try and appease everyone. She does as she pleases when and where she wants. Her change in form has done nothing but add to her beauty and skill in the art of dancing. She and Lereko, who have since become mates, dance for all religious ceremonies but also just because. Their routines are quite popular.
