Porter, as he formerly was, before delving into knowledge he shouldn't have, was a researcher for light. He delved into ancient histories and texts. It was once on his journey towards the border with shadow territory that he happened upon a cave within which he found runes and text scribed into the rock walls, only some of which he could understand. Hidden deeper within the cave was a library of scribed tablets of heavy dark stone. In words that, this time he could understand.


Porter summoned another being into this world. One that latched onto his body like a parasite, acting as his shadow and following him every step of the way. For this, he was ridiculed by his former flight and driven away from the resources he had before to study with. Resources that he had hoped to use to aid him in ridding himself of the creature now forever following him.
