Farforello's Consort; Pyrotechnician

There’s honestly no good reason why a tired old former Blessed Man would be acting as consort to a Trickster’s caravan. That’s what some members of the Jongleur mutter, and in a sense they’re right – the welted symbols adorning Surth’s limbs are now an eternal testament to his unfaithfulness, and a traitor has no place among those who favor spirits. Farforello must have vouched for him, though. Surth’s shared past with the Jongleur's spirit is clouded in dense history now, but it is nonetheless the subject of lively debate... After all, the Jongleur love to tell tall tales.

As a consort, Surth would generally take up position of Caravan Ringmaster. This would be potentially crippling to the caravan, however, given Surth's shy and reclusive disposition. He spends all of his time in the caravan's focal tent, where he tends to Farforello's lamp and tinkers with his pyrotechnic tools. The Jongleur's Ringmaster position must instead be hired out. This dynamic has negative effects on communication between Jongleur and patron spirit, but when Farforello insists, you listen.

As his major contribution to the caravan, Surth makes various pyrotechnic contraptions. It's a natural extension of his previous firetending talents – and the Jongleur Light Shows are now renowned throughout the southern Red Lands. As well they should be; Surth throws himself into this work, perhaps the last shred of good cheer and dignity he can manage.
