Masaiyah

Masaiyah came to the lair long ago, before it had a name, before she had a name. The land felt younger and newer and she found a perfectly remote and serene place to make a home. She built it herself alongside the mirror dragon beside her and she called it Magnolia Refuge, and she planned to have a home full of hatchlings to raise and care for, in this home. Her first nest had three eggs and she took great care in creating a nest for them. It seemed so perfectly ideal.

But the eggs never hatched.

The mirror dragon was called to their deity not long later and the Magnolia Refuge was too quiet. Masaiyah fell into her own sadness, mourning what could have been. It was only years later that Masaiyah found the energy to leave the Refuge, which had turned into an empty outpost instead of the warm home she'd wanted. What could she do?

Masaiyah believed it was the will of their deity that the winds of that day brought her to the clutch of young Spiral hatchlings that she guided back to her home. Their bubbly energy was infectious and Magnolia Outpost, as she called it now, became lively like she had once imagined it could've been.
Being an elder now, she tries her best to keep up with tireless Spiral hatchlings but often lets them play as they will, not having that sort of energy anymore. One day, her heiress will take over the Outpost and Masaiyah can rest in peace, knowing that her dream came true, albeit in a different way than she first thought.
