Argosine is the founder and leader of the Peacock Fern Clan. Enthusiastic and nurturing, she aspires to raise a clan that will make Glademother proud. The front of her beard is the same emerald color as her mane, something that reminds her of the Gladekeeper. Her name comes from a hero of legend, Argos, who was honored by the gods by being turned into a peacock. The suffix "-ine" comes from the name "Katherine," and unlike her mate (and some children) is pronounced as either "-ihn" or "-een." Argosine's name relates to peacocks because she is most deeply connected with Peacock Ferns out of all plant species. She is responsible for the growth and cultivation of most of the ones on her clan's territory. If she is feeling ill or gloomy one day, others in the territory may notice some of the ferns wilting in connection to her life force. Her favorite food is mushrooms of any kind. She is most often found covered in caked-on mud, in which she regularly bathes to combat the Viridian Labyrinth's heat. For this reason as well, the only apparel she chooses to wear is a headband. Like any tundra, she has difficulty memorizing things, so she doesn't keep specific records and spends a large part of her time keeping up with her clanmembers' names (matching them to the well-remembered scents). One name she will never forget, however, is that of Pine, her mate with whom she began her clan. All their children share the naming scheme of "-ine" endings. Her familiar joined the clan's ranks back before stranglers began hatching as neutral. Its Nature powers are more potent than those that newer stranglers possess and are a source of pride for Argosine and the clan by extension.
