Algiy

Algiy is a modest and placid Pearlcatcher Dragon.



Home and History

Making his home in the lower ocean beaches of Osage Trench, Algiy has claimed a modest sized sandstone ocean cave as his den. The cave is filled with organized treasure heaps, and a constantly refreshed seagrass bed. A small tunnel in the cave opening leads to the surface, allowing his familiar to enter his den from the cliffs. In order to pay tribute for living in Osage Trench, Algiy donates a portion of his treasure stash to Sorvid each year.


Personality and Hobbies

While Pearlcatchers have a reputation for being either arrogant or cowardly, Algiy, despite his confidence in his skills, will rarely overembellish himself and is actually a quite confident fighter. Algiy is well known for assisting other dragons in all sorts of matters. While not much of a hunter, Algiy is an excellent fighter and skilled artist, who is pleased to pass on his knowledge of such topics to others in need. Algiy is also great at finding rare materials, of which he will trade with others for tastier prey.


Familiar and Social Bonds

Kelp: Algiy's familiar is an emerald Webwing named Kelp. Kelp will live in and around Algiy's den, taking any scraps left over from his meals. Algiy has trained Kelp to activate an artifact to alert him of any dragons intruding on his den or getting too close for comfort. Kelp also helps keep the pest population down in his cave.

Lix: Algiy is close friends with the Mirror Dragon Lix, having grown close after learning of their shared ancestor Vitali. Despite the dragons' contrasting demeanors, Algiy and Lix share many interests, as well as both acting as teachers to other dragons. They will often engage in friendly spars, or help each other in den building, where Lix will dig out and terraform, while Algiy will decorate and detail.

Miyisk: As a Pearlcatcher, Algiy's species has a natural distaste for imperial dragons like Miyisk. Despite this Algiy will visit the elder dragon in order to sell some of his stash to the jewel maker. The rival species manage to tolerate each other enough to do business with each other on a monthly to yearly basis.

Mraya: As a treasure hunter Algiy will often take extended visits to Opal Cliffside to trade and sell his goods. While there, he will occasionally chat with Mraya about resources and market rates. While not necessarily friends they are friendly acquaintances.
