The Devotee
(Sentinel, Warrior, Experiment) "Loyalty and devotion lead to bravery." Iradius left on his Search when he was uncharacteristically young. This was an unusual choice in his clan, which followed the Earthen tradition of living in large, loosely connected groups that slowly migrate from place to place in search of food, water, good weather, and mineral deposits to mine. This calm, laid-back lifestyle never appealed to Iradius. He felt no ill will towards his clanmates but also felt no connection to them, never sharing in their interest for earth and stone and rock, and never feeling drawn to guard any of them, or any of the statues, mines, and caves that his clanmates always chose. Iradius's Search began with little ceremony. Even he did not expect it; it simply happened one night when he started walking and simply didn't stop. It was many years before he came to the Plague domain, many years of wandering throughout Sornieth waiting to feel the draw, the connection, the unconditional love he knew he would feel for his charge. It was not until he wandered unknowingly into the domain of the Three Queens and was quickly struck down by a small fae with terrible powers that he finally found his charge. Jyotis finds it more amusing than anything that this foreign Guardian has taken her as what he wants to protect above all else, especially when she could quickly end him with her magical prowess. Yet she allowed him a home in her domain and let him remain by her side, giving him enough attention and praise for him to stay by her side and guard her with a ferocity fueled by passion. She has even taken him as a mate, but for purely practical purposes - she knows their children will be strong, valuable dragons to send to the Plaguebringer. Iradius mourns silently as his and his love's children are taken at birth and trained into weapons of war, but he remains silent and obedient Iradius is a quiet and solitary dragon even now that his Search is over and he feels his life's purpose has been found. He rarely engages with his clanmates. He is fiercely loyal and devoted to his new queen and loves her passionately despite her indifference to him. She employed him as a warrior and a guard of the clan and soon as a willing test subject for her experiments. Iradius has begun to show the marks of these mutations but seems not to mind, as long as Queen is happy. He can usually be found patrolling the territory of his new home, living up to the name of his breed as a watchful sentinel and protector.
