Drayth
The Berserker
(Soldier, Warrior, Gardener) "Yes, yes! Bring your rage to bear! Try to strike me down!" Drayth is a ferocious and relentless warrior, quite literally forged in the heat of battle. Hailing from the harsh landscape of the Ashfall Waste, Drayth was hatched into a clan embroiled in a bitter battle with another. As such, he was trained from the first day of his adulthood to be a soldier. The elders of his clan pitted young dragons against each other in fierce combat with the intention to either make them into the strongest of warriors, or put an end to those too weak to be of use. Drayth not only survived these challenges but excelled at them. He rose to the top of this brutal hierarchy and was soon thrown into the heat of battle. Despite its legion of young and hardened warriors, Drayth's clan lost the war. Those higher up in the hierarchy were executed, but the lowly soldiers, raised with no will of their own, were merely banished. Drayth had lived his whole life up to this point with his only purpose being the defense of his clan and the conquest of their enemies. Without a war, without masters to tell him who to kill, Drayth was lost. He journeyed from clan to clan, offering his skills as a fighter in return for a home and a sense of security. As time went on, however, he became only more and more troubled. Memories of his hellish home, of his former masters, of friends and foes alike he had conquered were an inescapable presence. And as the past became harder and harder to run from, his fiery temper became harder and harder to control. Drayth was forced out of clan after clan when his strength and his fury became too much to control. Drayth was hired by the clan leader Jyotis when she learned of his reputation as a nigh unstoppable berserker. Drayth expected to once again be used as a war machine - he did not expect to attract the attention of Iset, the kind leader of the clan's spiritual affairs. Drayth had been raised to see nature dragons as weak, but with Iset he found that there are different kinds of strength. There is strength in kindness, strength in quiet, and strength in healing. Drayth serves as one of the leading warriors of this clan, hunting the most dangerous prey and training new fighters. Off of the battlefield he is a quiet and soft-spoken dragon that mostly keeps to himself. More often than not, he can be found in his room in the lair - a deep cave lit by fire where he tends to his plants and his flowers. He learned from Iset how to cultivate and nurture life and takes delight in the quiet company of his plants. Sometimes his clanmates even hear him speaking softly to them, praising their growth.
