Biography
arduinna || eggsitter ||
|
Sometimes other dragons are in a special time of need: Falling ill directly after incubating or special duties that need to be taken care of can prevent a dragon from taking proper care of their nest and thus someone else needs to do it so the eggs will not start to rot. In Ladon's clan, Arduinna is the dragon that takes care of these cases - just as if it were here own eggs, she incubates them, works her magic on them and makes sure to keep the parents as updated as possible. Of course it's a bit weird: An Ice dragon incubating Earth eggs? Well, Arduinna somehow has managed to learn a few tricks how to disguise her magic to trick the eggs a bit. Additionally, it gives the new born hatchlings a bit of an advantage after being influenced by two different elements during their incubation period. Luckily, Arduinna is also able to take care of multiple nests at once without getting to exhausted and even though she is sometimes indeed the first dragon to see the little ones hatch, she does not get too attached to them - except if they're really her own hatchlings. Still, she is indeed the caregiver for some of them, espescially when their parents are busy and they are finished with their flying lessons and the other stuff that has to be taken care of. |
Arduinna grew up in a very peaceful Ice clan, that had nothing to do with the ongoing dominance battles and similar stuff. They were... kind of icesolated one could say. Of course this led to a few problems - there was not a lot of variety in regards of culture and tradition and Arduinna got bored of this kind of quickly. Also, she felt very useless as she was always trying to take care of nests and hatchlings, but nobody would actually really need her help since no one was busy enough for an eggsitter like her. Thus the decision to leave her home was made pretty quickly even though with a heavy heart. Of course she would miss them - they were her family after all and they have never done any harm to her. But there were so many things to explore in this world and so many dragons that might need her help with nesting. So she started to explore different areas of Sornieth, offering her help to different clans and staying with some of them for a certain period of time until she deemed they would be fine without her help. One day, she finally ended up in Dragonhome, roaming around until she finally reached Ladon's clan who welcomed her with practically open arms. They were in urgent need of a friendly eggsitter - the last few had been far too sensitive and homesick for their liking and thus Arduinna seemed to be the perfect solution. And she indeed was. She proved to be very useful, but even more careful and good at her job so... basically, the clans' dragons won't let her leave. Which is fine with her - she loves it here in Dragonhome and the hatchlings are just so cute she would not be able to handle looking for a newer clan with cuter hatchlings. |
