Always quick on her feet and the first to start a fight, River was not a well liked dragon among her birth clan. They were always whispering behind her back, glaring her down when she would bump into them, for who knew what that girl was up to.

"She use to be so sweet." One whisper would be heard.

"I had high hopes for her, what a let down." A den mother would sigh.

River was top of her class during her young years, before she had gotten into the habit of stealing. It started with a toy here from a hatchling, a snack there from a food cart. Then as she grew older it got worse and worse. Pick pocketing, picking locks, breaking into dragons homes! Even those from her own clan have to lock their prized possessions away when River is around. It's why she was banned from her birth clan, forced out like an unwanted guest from her own home. River never let it get her down though, she wouldn't let her birth clan have the pleasure of knowing that they managed to hurt her.

She took it in her stride, deciding it was time to put her knowledge to work. She began to chart areas she travelled, becoming a merchant for a while. She would steal goods from one town, sell in another. She never had an issue with being a den hopper, it helped her to create her maps if she had a reason to continue sight seeing the world.

Eventually the young girl aged into a young woman. She had a pack on her back, filled with maps of each region, from the farthest stretches of each continent. She had done well for herself, the coin jingling in her coin purse enough to prove it. Though no matter how much the girl made, she always wanted more.

In River's greed, she came upon Armifera Fatum, an ice clan living in the Cloudscrape Crags. The young woman knew it was a risk. Running in such an environment could become very hazardous. She took the chance anyway, despite not being a fast flyer. She took jewels, treasure, quartz from dragons collections. Anything her greedy fingers could get onto she had it, filling her pack as full as it could go, taking to the air when she heard a warning signal. But it was too late.

It was a nocturne that had caught her, the leader of the clan. He very much wanted her thrown away to rot in the clans cells, but she had pleaded mercy, promising in her days to come she'd never steal from a clan member of Armifera Fatum again. In agreement, River became part of the clan, and is now used as a useful tool to Jowan, the leader. She is a clan spy and often goes out to bring back loot for the clan vault.

In recent years, River is still a thief among the clan, though she doesn't steal from her clan, she now steals for them. Even if they don't want her too, she still thinks it nice to bring back goods on her travels. She has become the clans Cartographer, making maps of the lands she's been to provide scouts with paths to get to where they need be.

River's most recent find had been a young nocturne male, by the name of Velius. She had taken him from his nest, located in the Fishspine Reef. River's taken Velius on as an apprentice, teaching him to move without being noticed, steal, to be a cartographer and most of all, how to stand up for himself in battle.

Since taking in the young hatchling, the two have been, well. As thick as thieves the clan jokes. They're never seen without each other, they complete their team. River fast on her legs and Velius fast with his wings. Some even gossip through the clan about how the two might just be an item.
