When the clan arcanist Idry struggled to keep up with the demand of needed magical scrolls and enchantments for his ever growing clan--tying himself into literal and metaphorical knots--Lana saw an opening.

Through pure tenacious spunk Lanys, or Lana as she prefers, weaseled her way into the role of "arcane apprentice", assisting Idry with such tasks as enchanting gene and breed change scrolls, creating minor boons and spells, and categorizing and storing all of the clan's magical artifacts. She's eager to learn all she can, sometimes too eager, and really hasn't sped up Idry's productivity as promised, on account of him having to slow down to teach her. Nonetheless, he appreciates her company and sunny disposition, which reduces his stress.

Out of pure curiosity, Idry has done a small amount of studying on the matter of Lana's reduction of his stress, to arrive at the conclusion that she has some sort of natural ability similar to the effects lavender wherein she exhumes some sort of calming scent or aura. For this reason, she also spends some of her time with the sick and wounded of the clan, tending to their ailments and generally easing the accompanying emotional stress.
