YUKI
NEST-MOTHER

Known for her icy beauty, Yuki spent the first few years of her life enslaved as not much more than an ornament for a noble dragon. She saw nothing wrong with that; it was what she had been bred for, like her mother before her, before age faded her looks. She received food and beautiful clothes and a place to sleep - there were worse fates for an Imperial. She was infected with Gembond as a hatchling to ensure the crystals grew optimally.

Of course, her beauty caught the eyes of many - not least a band of criminals looking for their next pay check. This group of miscreants, a ramshackle bunch of various dragons and beasts, took out the palace's guards with sleep darts and used magick to knock Yuki out and drag her away. Their plan was to hold her for ransom - but the noble responsible for her had already brought in one of her siblings to replace her, so instead they decided to find a buyer for the trophy dragon. Naturally this proved to be difficult - not many dragons had the money to buy such a rarity, nor did they have the space to keep an Imperial.

They never did manage to find a buyer. Instead, they stumbled upon Rowan's clan - the Imperial flew into a rage upon seeing the ice dragon shackled and miserable, striking at one of the kidnappers. A fight broke out, ending only when an Emperor reared its heads.

Rowan and Yuki were the only two survivors and, knowing they couldn't make it on their own in their wounded states, they trekked to the nearest clan - Ombre Fiore. Yuki couldn't make the flight; she never learned how to, so her wings are too weak to do much but hover.

Once they were taken care of, they settled into their new roles in Ombre Fiore - Rowan as a trainer and undertaker, and Yuki as a nest-mother. She found that she had a great affinity with the hatchlings and so took over caring for them when their parents are unable to.
