-has an uncommon genetic disorder that lessens her control over her inner magic reserves, making her unable to use magic outside of 'flares' where the buildup spills out all at once. her chained book is a medical device of sorts that absorbs some of the magic from these flares, lessening the severity of her episodes and leaving behind written runes that a medical professional can read to monitor and help manage her condition.

-initially took an interest in alchemy as a hatchling as a form of 'magic' that she did have control over, but these days her scientific passion is fully divorced from its origins as a coping strategy.

-tends to take things as they come, both good and bad. sometimes this means she's good at staying calm and pushing through under pressure; other times, her lack of reaction to events can come off as a lack of caring, not helped by her being minimally expressive as is typical of fae dragons. mycelium does care, but the way she shows it can be inscrutable and difficult to recognise as affection or sympathy without knowing her quirks.

-her love language is parallel play. to share a workspace or reading corner with mycelium is to be loved.

-as shown with her skin and apparel she loves to accessorise babey!! the weight provides sensory comfort and dressing up helps her counter any gender dysphoria, plus she just plain enjoys looking pretty. though she's much better known for her talent as an alchemist, mycelium is also a great dragon to go to if you need some fashion advice :]

-her familiar pickles was one of her first successful alchemical creations as a kid, and has stuck with her ever since. it was only after creating him that mycelium learned about glam nudibranches' picky care requirements and overbearing affection, and she often complains about him or threatens to throw him back in the cauldron, but it's all in jest - she really adores the little guy.
