Malik

Malik was born from an abandoned ice egg that Matthias found while he and Nakia were visiting various dragon clans in the Southern Icefield. He hatched in Nakia's pack, but even small and runty as he was, she could not carry him. The pack, now empty save for the hatchling, was passed over to Matthias. Travel continued, now with a quickly growing hatchling in tow.

Young Malik enjoyed romping through the deep snow, even when it was over his head. If he became distressed or scared, Matthias would rescue him and either put him in the pack for rest or, once he out grew the pack, onto Matthias's back. By the end of the trip, Malik had completely outgrown Nakia and was quickly catching up to Matthias.
Upon arriving back in the Ashfall Waste, Malik was excited. His parents had told him much about the clan they lived in and of his older sister that still lived with them as well. Once home, Malik was taken to the nursery where several other hatchlings were nestled. From there, he slowly integrated into the clan and met his sister, Zaila, as well as Gene and Rayne, the clan leaders.
