General lore idea: He found out what happened to Starlight Glimmer and decided to find her. It took him over a year to find the spell that would make him able to get to the world of Sornieth.

Also the size difference between him and Starlight in their dragon forms is way smaller than the official measurements would suggest, because Sunburst in his dragon form is actually about a size of a smaller Skydancer dragon (~3-4m of length/~3-4m of wingspan). And, just like her, he's able to revert himself to his original form.
Yeah, of course I tried to convince myself I *do not* need this fandragon but as you see...
