Miko dove under the nearest table as he heard his parents' voices coming from the hall, accompanied by some unfamiliar ones. No doubt some visitors were here to examine their collection, but Miko just wanted to play with the funny tubes and glass instruments that littered this particular room. He pulled himself into the shadows and crouched, trying to make himself as small and invisible as possible. Well that's no fun. He huffed quietly to himself, and lowered his eyelids, hoping his crimson eyes wouldn't give him away. The door swung open as Persys held it, Akelous following through with two Mirrors he didn't recognize, their red and white mottled skin striking against the scarves they wore. "And this is where we keep a very old set of alchemy tools," Akelous proclaimed, ushering the Mirrors over to the center table where the set sat perched, parts of the glass scorched black from overuse. "We don't have exact date, but we suspect this was used in the first age." "Impressive..." one Mirror drawled, contemplating what she saw as she looked over the pieces with her four eyes. "And have you tried to use any of them?" "Not this set," Persys interjected from the doorway. "Its far too old, we're afraid the pieces might break. We do have some more recent sets we can do a demonstration with, in our other wing." Just as quickly as they entered, Akelous and the Mirrors were exiting, chirping excitedly to each other about seeing an outdated alchemy set in action. Yet even as their voices faded away in the distance, Persys still lingering, his face blank. "I know you're in here, Miko," he said finally, following his mate out the door.
