Biography
Mr. Beaumont Altair
Gentleman Detective
-Bi, He/him
-Like many of the inhabitants of the Starwood Strand, Mr. Altair is something of a mysterious figure. In the sense that it feels as if he just appeared in town one day, his office already set-up and waiting for whoever would be the first to stumble across it. And perhaps he did. Though the townspeople know of him, as he will occasionally venture out into the rest of the Strand either on the job or to take care of everyday chores, no one knows where his office is actually located. Stray rumors saying it appears only to those in dire need of his assistance with issues of the fantastical and magical variety, whether aware of that or not. He is both nowhere, and exactly where he needs to be at any given time. Ah, but you want to know of who he is, right? The fair gentleman talks of his past in bits and pieces, but he seems to be a wanderer from outside of the Isles who hails from a prestigious family, who studied in fine arts and history amongst various other hobbies such as his fencing, that happened to fall into his field of work (though he'd hesitate to actually call himself a detective more-so than a mere problem solver) by happenstance. And amongst his travels, he's found himself settling in the Starwood Strand for the time being, as it seems this little town has a lot of problems to be solved. Not all buy his story of a mundane upper class background, and even fewer amongst those question his very dragonhood, but he refuses to address such accusations with much more than suspiciously hurt silence. Ah, well.... In other and final news, there is of course his amphibious assistant to consider too, Gabriel! Some say the little frog can talk as well as any dragon, but only those who work with him would truly know.
-Mr. Altair is a gentleman in every sense of the word. Polite and respectful, with a cool head about him no matter the situation, always putting the needs of others before himself as it's a gentleman's duty to help all he can. With him by your side, even the most dire of situations feels a little less scary, he's a reassuring shoulder to lean on and his confidence, wit, and positive attitude makes any obstacle seem surpassable. Mind you, that's not to say he's a perfect man. No one truly is and he won't deny this fact. Some can find him annoying in his enthusiasm and need for manners, and he cannot simply conjure up answers out of nowhere like many would want to believe. He's smart, he's learned much over his career, but one still has to apply themselves and often thoroughly investigate to get anywhere. Heck, his amphibious assistant there will happily sing of his criticisms of ol' Monty; he's annoying, he focuses on the wrong things in his pursuit of being a gentleman sometimes, he's not serious enough, he's far too silly, he promises far more than he can offer sometimes, he doesn't look out for himself enough, he isn't always honest enough with clients when it comes to bad news, he gets involved in things he shouldn't, does he need to emphasize again that he's an incredibly ridiculous and annoying man? He's sick of listening to his jokes all the time, honestly. But if you need someone dedicated to solving any issue of the supernatural and bizarre variety, then he is who you need. ...... Oh, you're wondering why he doesn't work for SAR? Why they haven't stopped him? Well, that'd require them to catch him first, wouldn't it?
-Not Partnered, he yearns greatly but he knows it'd be foolish to put someone in such a situation...
