Iolas' voice redefines 'deep' for many dragons who first hear it. When he shares stories of his past in the tavern, it's as if thunder itself is rumbling through the dimly lit room. He's very open when asked about things - he keeps nothing from his past hidden, whether it's a foggy memory from when he was a hatchling or the darkest deeds he committed during his time as a pirate.

Despite his ashen past, he's a valuable member of the clan now. He's considered a backline guard, prepared to protect the clan if danger strikes but not actively watching for it, and has proven himself time and time again through his combat prowess and lack of hesitation to put his life on the life for others. His time as a pirate instilled in him a strong sense of duty to his captain, and he now considers that to be Solstice and Jade.

Stiles has grown to be a close friend of his due to their similar professions, but the younger wildclaw has yet to convince him to join him as a member of his ship. Kojin quickly bonded with him, and they swap stories of ship life in the tavern some evenings. He's also grown surprisingly close to Ira, though he worries her mother Nori might not approve.

He has many other friends within the clan, and would give his life without hesitation for most of them. He's surprisingly easy to get along with despite his intimidating apparel and voice, so many listen when he's asked time and time again about his past life.

I N V E N T O R Y

O U T F I T
Iolas is known around the clan for his dramatic attire. Most of it comes from his life as a pirate, like the pierced bangles he has all over his body and the salt-scented bandana he wears on his head. The cape is new, but it adds a dramatic flair to his outfit that often makes hatchlings stare in awe. One piece he would consider crucial is his birdskull headdress- it masks a face criss-crossed with ugly scars and a slash that nearly took out his left eye. Thanks to it, he can amaze rather than terrify the clan's hatchlings, which he's grateful for since he adores them.

F A M I L I A R
Aela and Iolas met on the pirate ship - she was treated like a ship's cat due to her unusually feline tendencies, but as well as catching mice and rats she would fight alongside the rest of the pirates using her deadly scythes. Iolas once saved her life by diving into the water when she fell overboard in a storm, and after that she seemed to swear loyalty to him, spending her free time by his side and guarding his back in battles.
However, she always craved a more laid back life - when Iolas decided to split away from the crew she stowed away with him. He didn't want to force her into a life she wasn't used to, but he couldn't have been happier when he found the feline lounging in his bag later that day. The two of them are happy to be in retirement, and she loves the attention the hatchlings lavish on her when Iolas is telling them some of the tamer stories from his past.
